What a Divine & Savage journey it has been! We opened for business online in 2017, and opened the doors of our very first showroom and shop six years later...! Our new little home is in the unofficial design quarter of Bath, on Margaret’s Buildings, right between The Royal Crescent and The Circus. True to form, our space is a Maximalist’s dream. We have wallpaper (obviously), fabrics, cushions, lampshades, gifts and all sorts of delicious decor for your viewing pleasure.
Since Divine Savages Co-founder Jamie is a Bath native, it only made sense for us to come back to this splendid city and set up our first showroom. In the short span of a year, we made some major moves. We sold our townhouse in London (which was also our office and unofficial Divine Savages showroom with our design fingerprints throughout). We navigated the crazy real estate market of Bath and finally were able to complete on a beautiful, charming period property to call our home. While the essential renovations and redecoration began there (more on that later), we were simultaneously hunting for the perfect shop and showroom location. We were so lucky to find the perfect space to not only show off our range to local customers and interior designers, but to also serve as our design studio. Over the course of the Summer and Autumn of 2023, we redecorated and turned our virtual business into our first bricks-and-mortar location in the centre of Bath.
"Margaret's Buildings is a pedestrian street right between the Royal Crescent and the Circus and was the perfect location for our showroom. It's close to everything but a little quieter and cool. We're naming it the unofficial design quarter of Bath as we we're surrounded by such amazing shops like the stunning Berdoulat, 8 Holland Street, Hessian Collective, and the new Devol Kitchens showroom is just a short stroll away..."
So what is in the Divine Savages showroom & shop...? Let's just say we maximised and maximal-ised the space! It was quite the design challenge picking favourites and balancing how much we can display of our over 100 patterns and prints! Four different wallpapers are installed on the wall with the rest featuring in a large format custom display. The remaining surfaces are a glorious textural experience with cushions, fringed lampshades, and our fabric range - think floor to ceiling curtains and reupholstered vintage seating. Plus we renovated our small loo into probably the coolest cloakroom in all of Bath. It features delicious Ca Pietra tile and terrazzo and two of our prints for a full on explosion of green and pink colour and pattern. The oldie but goodie, 'Extintcopia', wallpaper from our Natural History Museum collaboration juxtaposes beautifully with our new 'Where the Wildflowers Grow' pattern (Coming Soon!) in the form of a cafe curtain.
As a customer or trade you can shop cushions and fringed lampshades, explore the scale of our wallpaper patterns and get a literal feel for what we do here at Divine Savages – particularly great to see our tactile textured prints like grasscloth, gold leaf and suede wallpapers in person. You can also have a stroke of our linen fabrics and sumptuous recycled velvets as well as discuss your interior projects and how we can help with ordering samples of wallpaper and velvet and linen fabric. We hope you can swing by to see us soon!
